Applications are invited for a
*Postdoctoral Research Position in functional and structural MRI,
Neuroimaging Group at the School of Science and Medicine in Munich,
Technische Universität München, Germany. *
The Neuroimaging Group at the Technische Universität of Munich is
looking for a postdoctoral fellow in MRI data analysis. The newly
founded Neuro-Center of the university hospital is equipped with a
state-of-the-art 3T-MR-Scanner, including DTI, fMRI, spectroscopy and
ASL. The institute hosts an interdisciplinary community with access to
brain imaging facilities like a PET-scanner, a MR-compatible EEG-system,
and advanced computing facilities. The Technical University is currently
ranked in the top three universities of the ‘excellence initiative’ in
Germany.
The position is part of a BMBF-funded junior research group involved
with functional connectivity analyses of the resting brain under
pathology with the aim of probing the value of these methods for the
clinical setting.
The key responsibility will be the investigation of new methodological
approaches, and algorithm and software development for DTI and fMRI.
Potential research activities involve probabilistic tractography, ICA,
multivariate analysis, or other approaches to obtain functional and
structural connectivity patterns in the brain.
The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team using
neuroimaging to map brain activity during ‘resting-state’ and task
performance associated with normal cognitive function and functional
brain disorders. Applicants with strong motivation to work in a
collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment and with experience and
interests in applied mathematics, programming (C, IDL and Matlab),
signal and image processing, and statistics are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Requirements: A Ph.D. degree in physics, mathematics,
statistics, or neuroscience. Additional knowledge and experience in
digital signal processing; proficiency in programming; familiarity with
the Unix/Linux operating systems are welcome. Preferred Qualifications
include skills in DTI/fMRI data analysis.
