This three year post, funded by MRC, is concerned with
characterising, summarising, modelling and understanding the
connectivity patterns in the human brain and will involve
mathematical modelling and scientific computing, especially matrix
computation. It will exploit cutting edge human brain diffusion
imaging data being generated at the University of Oxford Centre for
Functional Magnetic Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB). You will spend the
first semester at FMRIB, training in computational neuroscience, and
thereafter will be based in the Department of Mathematics at the
University of Strathclyde. You should have a PhD in Numerical
Analysis/Scientific Computation/Computational Statistics or in a
topic that is rich in computation and data analysis (or equivalent
research experience).
