*** Yesterday, I was the only NeuroDiverse/Autistic disabled person at this
protest outside ERYC County Hall, Beverley representing the only 100% Hull
and E. Riding disabled peoples' group (Hull and E. Riding Mental Health
Action Group (MHAG)).
As you all can see our organistion is totally missed out, but the print the
names of all the Big Chartities. What a surprise eh?
I spoke with the Hull/E.Riding Daily Mail reporters and also my advocate did
too Mervin Goring, from Nottingham Advocacy Group (NAG), but we've been both
totally ignored, as usual. The reporter promised Mr Goring and I that they
would report what we I said on behalf of Hull and E. Riding MHAG, but has
you can see 'we' are no where to be seen and not reported our voices at all.
This was the same behaviour by BBC Look North news too.
I did get my voice on the BBC Radio Humbeside news at 4 pm for about '30
seconds', then after that all furthur news bullitins reported the Big
Charities 'voices' who where at the protests.
I was also the only protester not allowed to enter and excluded altogether
by East Riding Of Yorkshire Council in entering County Hall for this full
Council meeting where the decisions around 'cost-cutting' social services
were made.
The Judges (HHJ Grenfell and DJ Besford) in my previous hearings stated to
the Council that as a disabled person that I had to be given access to all
public meetings with all the support I need, even with this 'injuction' in
place. Mr Goring, Independent advocate and I went through the communications
process that the Judges put in place in my care, but as usual the Council
ignore the Judges in my case. How can they get away with this? Is this not
contempt of court?
What does this say?
What does this say about the 'Disablism' within the media and the Council?
Yours
Colin Revell
