Title: The neurobiology of violence: implications for prevention and
treatment
Date: 16 & 17 October 2007
Organisers: Professor Sheilagh Hodgins & Dr Essi Viding
Synopsis: In recent years, there has been an explosion of knowledge about
the developmental processes leading to persistent violent offending, and
most particularly regarding the neurobiological determinants. This new
knowledge has as yet had little impact on government policies, prevention
programmes, and rehabilitation of offenders. This meeting will present
recent advances in the understanding of the neurobiology of persistent
violent behaviour.
Venue: The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AG
This meeting is free to attend but pre-registration online is essential.
