Dear Colleagues
We are about to start work on our first season at Factory Farm, between
Ploegsteert and Messines in Belgium on the 1917 Messines battlefield. The
purpose of the project is to examine Allied and German trenches, as well as
remains of mine craters from the battle. We hope to see evidence of
personal life in the trenches, as well as the adaptations and improvements
made by troops living in them between winter 1914 and 7th June 1917. We
also want to see any signs of re-occupation in 1918, as well as evidence of
the reconstruction.
You can follow our progress via our blog at:

All good wishes
