Yes, that is what I meant. (equivalent to the spectrum scale you mention
below)

I had not thought of this distinction (basically meaning it would ignore
unpicked peaks, right?). I am not sure - such a scaling routine might
actually be useful to pick the peaks in the first place (especially in
1Ds) so I am a bit ambivalent about this: I could see an argument for
either case. However, if the data model approach is the easiest to
implement that would be fine.

Yes, I have been using that parameter in the spectrum list, but found it
to be rather time consuming to get it right for a larger number of spectra.
