BASEES Conference, 29 – 31 March, 2008

Proposals are invited for panels and papers for the 2008 Annual Conference
of the British Association of Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES).
There will be separate panel streams on culture/literature/media/gender
studies; languages/linguistics; politics/international relations; history;
economics/environment/geography; and social policy/sociology/social
anthropology.

To propose a panel or a paper you will need to fill in a proposal form,
available via the links shown on the BASEES website: www.basees.org.uk.
There are separate forms for panels and papers and each is in .rtf format.
You should download the appropriate form and fill it in electronically,
and send it electronically to the appropriate subject stream organiser AND
to the conference address.
Note that:
(i)Postgraduate members of BASEES who present papers are eligible to apply
for financial support towards their conference costs. All enquiries
regarding membership should be addressed to the membership secretary, Dr
Jenny Mathers [[log in to unmask]].
(ii)I will be requesting funds for a postgraduate reception at the
conference. If you have other requests for services you think BASEES can
or should provide to its postgraduate members, either at the conference or
elsewhere, please email me [[log in to unmask]].
The deadline for all your suggestions is October 1 2007.
