Just for information - I have discussed this issue with the doctor who
does a clinic for us and he has confirmed that modern day pacemakers
should not pose a problem. he suggests that if you are concerned at
all, to check the pulse before and after the assessment to see if there
is any marked difference.

I have a client who is fitted with a Pacemaker unit.We have received a
referal to carry out an Indoor powered wheelchair assessment at his
home.We do not have a Consultant , most assessments are carried out with
OT /RE, .Does any one have a Policy on Powered Wheelchairs when
assessing clients who have Pacemakers.I would appreciate some
