We are currently recruiting the following posts based at the Univeristy
Archive and Special Collections Centre:
Senior Archivist | £26,975 - £29,609 |
You will be responsible for managing the organisation, optimisation and
client-focused delivery of multiple collections within the Archives and
Special Collections Centre, with particular responsibility for the Stanley
Kubrick Archive.
Duties will include managing acquisitions and funds, creating and
supplementing catalogue records using CALM, organising the preservation and
conservation of materials, and participating in promoting and marketing the
collections. In addition, you will have the rare opportunity of enlarging
the Stanley Kubrick Archive via your own research and by identifying and
securing additional material from outside the Archive.
As a qualified, experienced archivist not only will you have excellent
archive skills, but also experience of supervising staff and communicating
at all levels. Excellent organisational and IT skills and the ability to
work under pressure are essential. Knowledge of 20th century film,
including the work of Stanley Kubrick is desirable.
Part time Archives and Special Collections Assistant | £19,232 - £23,043 |
(21 hours per week, 1 year contract)
You will contribute to the entire range of activities associated with
organising, developing and delivering the materials contained within the
Archives and Special Collections Centre. Working with a small team, your
duties will include retrieving items from the Archives and Special
Collections Strongroom and assisting archive users in operating search
tools and processing archive materials. This is a client-facing role and
you will be required to deputise for other staff in case of absence and
assist with training programmes for users and volunteers.
You will have experience of working in an archive, library or customer
services environment; excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills;
an interest in arts, design and communication industries and the ability to
work both independently and as part of a team.
