Computing professional position for ATLAS-GRID computing
The high-energy physics group at McGill University invites applications
for a computing professional to take over the responsibilities for
installing, maintaining, and developing the group's GRID computing
environments, primarily involving the international ATLAS particle physics
experiment's Quebec Tier-2 computing resources. The McGill HEP computing
resources serve the ATLAS, BABAR, CDF and DØ experiments.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in scientific
computing, and advanced knowledge of C++, Linux and scripting languages.
In addition, experience with working collaboratively on large
international projects, as well as interest and aptitude in user support
is essential. Prior experience in GRID computing is an asset. The
successful applicant is expected to take on the management and maintenance
responsibilities of the Quebec regional Tier-2 computing resources,
working closely with managers of other high performance computing centres
in Canada.
To qualify, the candidate should have a bachelor degree in computer
science or equivalent experience. Interested applicants should submit a
