Hi Ben,
the first thing that comes to mind is that you are using a threshold of
p = 0.05, UNcorrected, which suggests that a lot of what you are seeing
are simply false positives. This should be better if you correct for
multiple comparisons. If after that you still have cluttered voxels, an
extent threshold of k = 5 or so does a lot to clean up images :)
