Depends on how serious you are. STASI records torn and conventionally
shredded are now being re-constructed by the sort of technology deployed
against ENRON shredded records.
Not sure if the technology is (yet) effective against cross-cut shredding.

Subject: Destruction of records
A bit of a strange question but...
If very confidential records have been shredded, would you say it is safe to
put the shredded bits in a normal bin or should something else be done to
the bits of paper?
Is there a standard on this?
Thanks for your help as always.
