Dear Int-bounders
I am pleased to announce details of the International Boundaries
Research Unit's final training workshop in 2007, which will take place
in Washington, DC from 2-4 October. The workshop is being run in
partnership with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP, which will host the
course in its new offices in central Washington.
The workshop is designed to help governments evaluate the benefits and
disadvantages of third-party boundary dispute settlement, and to equip
them with information and skills to ensure a successful outcome from the
process. Led by highly experienced international lawyers and boundary
practitioners, the workshop will offer practical instruction on topics
such as: choice of forum; assembling and assessing evidence; building
and managing a team; presenting your case and rebutting your opponent's
case. It will also examine options for non-binding dispute resolution
mechanisms such as mediation, conciliation and Track II diplomacy.
