-- The ICA, one of London's leading centres of debate and intellectual
culture, is offering a rare opportunity to work on its recent audio
archive.
We are currently looking to recruit an Audio Editing Intern for a period of
three months starting from August 2007, 1-2 days a week, subject to a
two-week probationary period.
The internship offers the opportunity to work on the recent archive of ICA
Talks which have been recorded onto CD, editing them for audibility,
creating master WAV files and converting them to mp3 files of acceptable
listening quality. Working within our busy and vibrant Communications
department, you will gain a practical working knowledge of the marketing
requirements of a major London arts organisation, as well as working
alongside the Website Manager on developing the ICA website and its
audiovisual content.
Applicants should be proficient in the use of Audacity or similar
audio-editing software, and familiar with encoding audio to mp3 files at
specific bit rates, as well as having an acute ear for detail.
Applicants should also be able to demonstrate computer literacy and strong
administrative and interpersonal skills. They should work well both in a
team and autonomously. An interest in contemporary intellectual culture
and excellent spoken and written English skills are essential.
Internships are offered on a voluntary basis, however all travel expenses
between zones 1-4 are reimbursed and ICA staff benefits are provided.
To apply, please visit our website, http://www.ica.org.uk/jobs, fill out
the ICA Internship application form which is available to download under
'Applying for an Internship at the ICA' on this side, and return the
completed form to
