You can absolutely see it in Coot! The superposition output and rmsd
values are given in the command window hidden behind your Coot Viewer.
The problem is that the OS default command window (and history) are too
short for crystallographers who want to align large stretches of things.
Now, this is the trick for Win-Coot, but I'm certain someone can
translate this into linux commands for you. (I'm too Linux-unsavvy to
know the syntax. maybe through set term or set env or something?)
1. In WinCoot, right click on the little coot icon in the top left
corner of the command windows (not the viewer window) and go to Properties
2. Under Options, set your Buffer size to 999 and your number of buffers
to 5. This allows for 5000 lines of text to be kept.
3. Under the Layout tab, set the Screen Buffer size height to 9999,
which allows you to actually see said 5000 lines of text that you kept.
That's it!
Now you'll see too much.
