Event Background

Working with a group of Physicians, Prescient International has developed an
Electronic Health Management System (EHMS(tm)
<http://www.prescient.net/Solutions_EHMS_LR.htm>
http://www.prescient.net/Solutions_EHMS_LR.htm or
<http://www.optimalcare.net/> http://www.optimalcare.net/ ), a Clinic and
Practice Management System for family physicians. The system is a web based
application, which has three modes of operations/implementation. The
presentation will discuss the issues, barriers for adoption, challenges,
solutions and implementation. In doing so, the presentation will cover:

*	Physician Issues

*	Technology Issues

*	Standards

*	Definition of EMR/EHR

*	Implementation Issues

*	Legal constraints / Regulatory constraints

*	Cost

*	Experiences

About the Presenter

Karim Kassam brings over eighteen years of worldwide experience in the
technology field to his role as Prescient's President and CEO. Karim has
developed a clear and differentiated strategy for Prescient that focuses on
client centric solutions based on understanding the client's future needs
and developing technology solutions years before their time for
implementation now. Under Karim's guidance, technology is transformed into
business enabling solutions that support the client's needs to enhance their
bottom line performance.

As an avid proponent of privacy, security and confidentiality of personal
information/data, Karim has forged long term relationships (over 10 years)
with family healthcare physicians, branches of government, pharmaceutical
companies and technology vendors.

Prescient is currently a leader in the development of security and privacy
enhancing technology that will transform and enable health and other
government transactions as well as mobile/wireless industries and the
financial sector. This offering is rounded out by a suite of web-enabled
applications built on a model that incorporates client interaction
throughout the entire development process. The EHMS(tm) is Prescient's
flagship application for the health industry that exemplifies the use of
ERDM(tm) (Encrypted Relational Database Model -
<http://www.prescient.net/Solutions_ERDM.htm>
http://www.prescient.net/Solutions_ERDM.htm ) and e2Sec(tm) (End-to-End
Security -  <http://www.prescient.net/Solutions_e2sec.htm>
http://www.prescient.net/Solutions_e2sec.htm ), which are proven unbreakable
privacy and security enhancing technologies.
