Dear All, especially our new members,
It is always a delight to click on 'agree' to send a welcome to new members to our list and recently
we have several more. Thank you for joining - would you like to introduce yourself? I am keen to
know more about your work and I am sure I speak for everyone here. My news and apologies for
being so quiet for so long - is that I have left working as a university lecturerer after 12 years and
I am now working freelance as a research mentor alongside teachers and their students - I love it!
I am also wating for examination of the doctoral thesis I submitted by publications (DPhil) last year
so it's a nail biting time... we identified six potential examiners last week so it cannot be long now.
As some of you know, this is my second application for PhD - my first submission was examined
under the wrong criteria and never re-examined so this adds to the tension and excitement now..!
I do hope we can meet at the BERA SIG/CARN Day on 7th July. With Geraldine coming to talk about
introducing mentoring in southern Ireland, Colin talking about how the Framework for Mentoring
and Coaching impacts on teachers' research and Nichola presenting on professional recognition
for teachers' research through the TLA Framework plus a superb venue, free registration and food
- we are set for a first rate event but we need you and your colleagues to join us to make it work!
