The Thieves of Time? Service provision and public service reform
Pat McFadden MP, Parliamentary Secretary
Cabinet Office
Tuesday 26th June 2007, 10-11 am, Social Market Foundation, 11 Tufton
Street, London SW1P 3QB
Dear Colleague,
The SMF is extremely pleased to invite you to this seminar, taking place
on Tuesday 26th June between 10-11 am, at which Pat McFadden MP will speak
about time and service provision.
As Parliamentary Secretary at the Cabinet Office, Pat has an interest in
Social Exclusion and Public Service Reform. In this speech he will discuss
time in relation to public service reform and the responsibility of both
public and private sector providers to design and deliver services in a
way which ‘gives’ rather than ‘steals’ citizens’ time.
He will argue that time is a limited resource for all income groups,
arguably as important for lower income groups as for ‘blackberry man and
woman’, and an essential factor in the further empowerment of citizens and
consumers.
This event will include an audience discussion following on from the
speech.
We very much hope you can join us. If you can, or would like to send a
colleague in your place, then please contact Myriam Ben Ammar on
[log in to unmask] or call 020 7227 4412.
