Upcoming events for Soundwaves- a collaboration between Kinetica Museum &
Cybersonica
Wed, 6th June 6pm: Greatest hits from the Future of Sound talk by Martyn
Ware. Martyn Ware, 80's pop icon as co-founder of Heaven 17 and The Human
League, introduces a selection of sonic artists as featured on the recent
'Future Of Sound' UK tour showcasing leading practitioners in the fields of
music and audiovisual design including Robin Rimbaud a.k.a Scanner, Tal
Rosner, Ross Philips of SHOWstudio and Ed Cookson of The Sancho Plan.
Sat, 9th June 2-5pm: BurntProgress CDR workshop-open source beats foe the
WiFi Generation. CDR is a platform for the airing of new ideas, works in
progress, unreleased songs, remixes, and edits-releasing new music from the
confines of music manifested within laptops, bedroom studios, sampling
sequencers and digital multi-tracks. Facilitated by Tony Nwachukwu
participants will co-create beats and soundscapes with audio sourced from
open source/libre sound rchives. Attendees should bring their laptop equipped
with their music-making tool of choice
Sun 10th June 4pm & 6pm: Soundwaves-Performance & Presentations. Another
chance to se demonstrations, performances and presentations by Soundwaves
artists and special guests.
Wed 13th June 6pm: Jake Ewen-'Cymatic Planet' Sacred Geometry Through Sound.
Sat 16th June 2-5pm: Audio Modification - workshop led by DJ Tendraw & The
Gypsies Dog.
Wed 20th June 6pm: Audio Modification - Talks by Brian Duffy (Modified Toy
Orchestra) and DJ Tendraw & The Gypsies Dog
Wed 20th June 8pm: Rob Mullander & Lee Patterson-performance.
Sat 23rd June -5pm: Aura: The stuff around the stuff around you-worshop led
by Steve Symons
