1. Response to "Inverse Disaster Diplomacy" from 9 May 2007.
Thank you again to James Lewis for his comments on inverse disaster
diplomacy posted to this list on 9 May 2007. I am now back from travel and
I have updated the disaster diplomacy website
http://www.disasterdiplomacy.org in two ways, based on this message:
(a) One of the ideas is now re-crafted to be "Mirror Disaster Diplomacy or
Inverse Disaster Diplomacy"
http://www.disasterdiplomacy.org/projects.html#mirror
(b) The Mexico-USA case study
http://www.disasterdiplomacy.org/casestudies.html#mexicousa now includes the
24 April 2007 tornado disaster along the Mexico-USA border.
As a third update, the Worldwatch Institute's "Natural Disasters and
Peacemaking" project is now complete
http://www.disasterdiplomacy.org/projects.html#wwi
As always, further disaster diplomacy material and commentaries would be
welcome.

As well, the person who posted the advert, El Parker, writes:
The ad is deliberately vague - we would like to encourage those from
an engineering/technology/logistics/project/programme management in
relief background. Perhaps with knowledge/practical experience of
international humanitarian aid/UN/INGO/NGO field.
Others with knowledge of risk assessment /management processes -
qualitative and quantitative in an international or UK context. UK
resilience / civil contingencies - regional - national level.
If they want to discuss anything informally please telephone me
+44-7855-323890.
