Dear Colleague,
Do you work with French and Francophone collections at your institution?
If so, I am writing to you on behalf of the French Studies Library Group
(FSLG) to invite you or an appropriate colleague to consider joining this
group. The FSLG was founded in 1999 as a focus for librarians and others
concerned with the provision of library resources and services in French
studies in the United Kingdom. Membership is open to any individual or
institution with an interest in this area and many of us work in the
Higher Education sector.
You can find out more about our activities and aims from our website at
http://fslg.libr.port.ac.uk/. We hold an annual conference in September
and the 2007 conference will be held at the Institute of Germanic &
Romance Studies, University of London, on 12 September 2007. This
conference is normally held jointly with other language groups with whom
we have close links. All are members of WESLINE
http://www.ulrls.lon.ac.uk/wesline/, an umbrella group set up to enable
collaboration in the area of West European languages. Our 2007 AGM will be
held on Friday, 15 June at the British Library in London.
Membership details and information about joining our mailing list can be
found on our website. Alternatively, you are welcome to contact me as the
Secretary or our Treasurer, Martin Hodgson ([log in to unmask]) for
more information. We would particularly welcome recently qualified or
newly appointed subject librarians with a responsibility for French
collections who have little or no experience in this area, as the Group is
well placed to offer support, knowledge and encouragement.
Yours sincerely,
Ann Farr (Secretary)
