Berkshire Archaeology, part of Reading Borough Council's Cultural Services,
provides archaeological services to the five Berkshire unitary authorities
of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (lead client), Reading
Borough Council, Bracknell Forest Borough Council, Slough Borough Council,
and Wokingham Borough Council.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Archaeologist to join our small
team based at Central Library:
ARCHAEOLOGY OFFICER
£23,175 - £26,928 pa (pay award pending)
Ref: MUS0116
Reporting to the Principal Archaeologist, you will be responsible for the
provision of archaeological development control advice, including liaison
and negotiation with planners, developers and contractors. You will also
play a key role in Berkshire Archaeology's programme of public outreach, to
enhance access to, and appreciation of, Archaeology.
You will have a degree in Archaeology, AIFA, appropriate level of experience
of professional Archaeology in Britain, an extensive knowledge of
archaeological fieldwork techniques and experience of working with members
of the public.
