LSE Health and Social Care
Development Manager: Open Society Mental Health Initiative
Closing date July 31
This post is based in London, U.K.
Turning rights into reality. Thousands of disabled people across Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union are placed in institutions, in most cases for the rest of their lives, because there are no services or support available to them in their local communities. The Open Society Mental Health Initiative (MHI), a grant making and operational program of
the Open Society Institute, has created the new post of Development Manager to build on, and take forward, MHI's work in promoting the sustainable development of high quality, user focused, community based services as alternatives to institutionalized care. Working with MHI's partner organizations, NGOs, policy-makers, governments and international donors,
the post holder will play a key role in developing and disseminating best practices in supporting people to live successfully in the community.
