All,
I am planning to attend the DC2007 conference but have to leave before
the end to get to a wedding in Toronto on the 1/9. I hope to be able to
contribute to this work online before the conference and while there.
Most of my current work in this area is in the context of the EU4ALL
project. I have posted some notes on this on the implementers' notes
page on the Wiki
(http://dublincore.org/accessibilitywiki/ImplementersNews).
Also at the Open University our core metadata is DC based and we are
working this year on developing the accessibility/adaptability section
of this metadata. Hence this work is of importance in an OU context
too.
Best regards,
Martyn

Subject: moving along....
Hello Everyone
Behind the scenes, work has continued on the AccessForAll profiles
for digital resources, and events and places, and blended learning,
and ways to describe language and cultural differences, etc.... The
main work has been directed towards the final publication of the ISO
standards for resource descriptions for education and the
corresponding user needs and preferences profiles. The IMS version is
currently being revised to match the ISO standard. The DC version
also should be as closely matching as possible - but has to be
different because the structure of DC metadata is different.
Please take a final look at the proposals for these profiles as they
appear on the DC Accessibility wiki, and post your comments,
suggestions, objections, whatever you want to offer, to the wiki. The
final work should be completed by the time the group meets at the DC
2007 conference at the end of August, in Singapore.
Anyone who has something to present with respect to this work should
contact me so we can schedule it for the conf session that will be on
Thursday August 30th (I think).
