Dear All,
I'm strongly in favour of having fewer speakers to give them longer to
speak and to allow for a longer time for questions. Given that we are
an interdisciplinary group, I think speakers will want some time to
explain things to people who may be unfamiliar with their approach.
Also, it seems that we should be promoting discussion amongst
ourselves. The chance to give and receive feedback, suggestions and
criticism to and from people in different disciplines seems to me to be
the most valuable thing that could come out of the group.
I'd also be strongly in favour of having the drinks and social time
after the talks. Then people can talk about the issues in the meeting.
At the last meeting it seemed that people were shy before the meeting
but lots of people wanted to talk afterwards.
Best wishes,
Fiona
