Hello
Susan Clow who is the manager of In The Picture Project, a Scope project,
has sent me some information about their image bank on libraries that I
thought might be of interest.
She says, "Part of the culture change we want to make in the book world
around including disabled children is to good practice in libraries"
The whole project is aiming to encourage publishers, illustrators and
writers to embrace diversity - so that disabled children are included
alongside others in illustrations and story lines in books for young
readers.
You can access the In the Picture site at
http://www.childreninthepicture.org.uk/
and the librray image bank is at
http://www.childreninthepicture.org.uk/photobank_libraries.htm
This is a new site and there are more examples to be added yet, but Susan
has asked for further links and suggestions. If you want to contact her
directly, her email is [log in to unmask]
