For Research Assistant
Working part-time, 2 days a week (14 hours a week by arrangement), at £16500
pro rata. Start date to be arranged.
Assisting with editorial tasks leading to the completion of a 6 volume
publication of the Indian and Pacific correspondence of Sir Joseph Banks.
The job will involve preparing and indexing text, as well as helping with
any research or administration arising from this. Applicants will need to be
able to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Good
typing speed is essential. A graduate at Phd level is preferred in history
or literature in the eighteenth or early nineteenth centuries.
The post is within the Sir Joseph Banks Archive Project, which is located at
the Natural History Museum, London. The successful candidate will be working
for the editor, Neil Chambers, at the project office. Please send your CV
