Req No.: 43263
Basic Qualifications-
BSc in Statistics (or equivalent) with related life science experience in
statistical design, analysis and programming, and a demonstrated track
record of influencing research and direction.
Preferred Qualifications-
Ideally, you will have an MSc (or equivalent) with related experience
working as a statistician within either a pharmaceutical or academic
medical research setting, as well as a keen interest in the clinical
pharmacology environment. You should have excellent team-working, project
management and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to communicate
technical issues. Experience of using a broad range of statistical
techniques, which may include use of adaptive designs, would be
advantageous, as would knowledge of Bayesian approaches and experimental
medicine methodology.
Details-
We have an opportunity for a statistician to work in the Clinical
Pharmacology area supporting the development of new drugs in the
Respiratory and Inflammation therapeutic area at Greenford or Stevenage.
Your primary focus will be on the provision of statistical consultancy and
strategic input to the early stages of clinical development programs; this
would include co-authoring clinical protocols, analysis plans, and study
reports, and performing and/or coordinating statistical analyses.
Working as a member of a team of similarly skilled and committed
statisticians, your demonstrated statistical expertise will enable you to
contribute to the design and analysis of clinical pharmacology trials,
interpretation of results, and subsequently to use the results for
internal decision making, progressing compounds through clinical
pharmacology into clinical research, and ultimately to regulatory
submission and publication. You will have opportunities to develop and
utilise varied and novel statistical methodologies to enhance future
analysis strategies, as well as to research new endpoints to aid in the
prediction of clinical effect. As a key team member with physicians,
clinical pharmacologists and pharmacokineticists, regulatory colleagues
and data managers, your excellent team-working, leadership and planning
skills will provide quality input into clinical development programs,
clinical pharmacology projects and studies, and experimental medicine and
exploratory research areas. The roles also require involvement in study
design, CRF development, statistical analysis plan creation, statistical
programming, interpretation of results, review of study reports, and
preparation of manuscripts and abstracts. As a study or project
statistician you will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team where
you will be expected to influence colleagues in complex situations and
make an impact within a cross-functional team-based environment.
