Qualitative Systematic Reviews in Health & Social Care: 2-day workshop.

This developmental workshop will be participatory with speakers and

Oxford Psychiatry Conference 2007

Dates: 16-18th Sep 2007

Venue: St Catherine's College, Oxford University

Starting in the evening of September 16th, this prestigious conference is
primarily intended for psychiatrists who have an interest in the very latest
research advances, in their application to high quality clinical practice,
and in sampling the experience of Oxford's unique academic environment. It
is also highly appropriate for anyone, such as commercial representatives,

The 2nd Oxford Health & Homelessness Conference 2007

Date: 25th Sep 07
Venue: Oxford University
Delegate fee: £150 (accommodation and pre-conference dinner
on Sep 24th extra)

The Conference is aimed at helping the health and homeless community to
understand and embrace the opportunities afforded by the DoH Joint
Commissioning Framework for Health & Wellbeing, published in March 07.
Additionally, the Conference aims to update practitioners on approaches to
the clinical challenges facing them as they care for homeless and
insecurely-housed people in the current environment.

Randomised Controlled Trials: 5-day course

The course aims to help participants with the practicalities of conducting
randomised trials. This includes the processes for resourcing the trial,
recruiting and randomising participants, maintaining the trial's momentum,
and analysing and reporting it.

Patient Based Evidence: blended-learning course

Dates: 24th Sept to 5th Oct 2007 (online
component) plus 15-18th October 2007 (face-to-face component)

This course is for anyone who wishes to develop an understanding of
patient-based evidence and patient reported outcome measurement,
particularly in relation to health-related quality of life and patient
satisfaction. Those could include clinicians, managers, researchers, policy
makers, individuals from voluntary organisations and patient groups, and
those individuals within national agencies leading programmes of work
related to patient involvement and patient evidence.

There is increasing recognition that the use of evidence to improve health
care is influenced by a wide range of social factors. The quality of
communication between clinician and patient, and the patient's understanding
of treatment options can influence the choice of treatment. This course
