Hi emma,
At my authority we have tended to use rolled crushed stone, which forms
a good solid surface without looking too urban, but this tends to
deteriorate over time. Recently we have used peashingle bonded in resin
which gives the impression of gravel, but this is expensive and we have
not yet determined its longevity.
Our Landscape Dept would also be interested in people's thoughts about
the product that is attached with your original email.
Regards.
John.

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] Question about Compacted Gravel Paths
Hi all,
Has anyone come across the use of compacted gravel for pedestrian paths?
I was just wondering whether anyone has used this type of surface or
knows of any examples? I've attached a pdf from one manufacturer and
would really appreciate any thoughts that you might have about its use?
We are working on a project in a Site of Special Scientific Interest and
the buildings are all Listed so need to find an appropriate surface that
works with the existing gravel and sand surfaces on site - the
architects have proposed this compacted gravel.
Thanks a lot,
Emma
