No reason, I wouldn't think, he couldn't have sofy drinks at the bar.
My local barkeep is an ex-alky, serves the stuff and never touches
it. Probably the sight of his customers falling off their stools
steels his resolve.
Vegan shoes: made from asparagus? Would be handy if stranded on a
saladless island.
