Hi all
I am at the writing up stage of my portfolio and share a lot of the
feelings expressed in this thread. Achieving my degree and qualified
teacher status were easy compared to this! It is definitely the most
challenging qualification I have experience of..maybe partly because I
didn't have to juggle work, family and further study previously but I do
feel I have struggled to understand the requirements and that this has
dented my confidence. Had I found my degree course this hard, I may well
have given up!
There is no doubt that I have gained professionally through undertaking
the chartership process, but there is also no doubt that I didn't fully
appreciate the complexity of the portfolio-building process. Surely, as
we have proven academic backgrounds, this qualification should be
something we feel is accessible and attainable as we gain professional
experience and I wonder why so many of us feel it is so hard to achieve?
However, I am sure it will be worthwhile in the long-run!
