News from the Preserv project
We are delighted to report that the Preserv
project is to receive new funding from JISC to
extend its work on preservation for institutional
repositories towards the end of 2008. Preserv 2
will go ahead with the same partners as before -
the University of Southampton as the lead
partner, The British Library, The National
Archives and Oxford University - with additional
support this time to enable more direct involvement of these partners.
To find out what progress the project made during
its first phase, and therefore where it begins
its investigations in phase 2, see this recent article in D-Lib Magazine
Digital Preservation Service Provider Models for Institutional Repositories

This was described in one US blog as "the British
contingent has a fine article on preservation
vis-à-vis institutional repositories".
Or you can discover the story of the project by
the people behind it, in the Preserv video

(if you have a Flash player that works with your
browser, accessing this page will begin automatic
download of the video). A short article about the
making of the video appeared in Ariadne (April 2007)
