this is called with status=0xbfffd2dc ( a valid pointer)
Note that in the ndg_asso1 call fields=0xbfffd2c which is the pointer to
status. So, looking at ndg_asso1 call it seems that LPG_ASSOC is missing
the VERB parameter.
Oh the joys of not having prototypes.
