Max,
A new site that could be helpful is Wikipatterns:
http://www.wikipatterns.com/display/wikipatterns/Wikipatterns
The site discusses the patterns that help with the adoption of a wiki
and what the potential barriers are.
At Bath we went through a selection process that included 5 wiki after
narrowing candidates to our initial requirements through this site:
http://www.wikimatrix.org/
In the end we selected Confluence which as far as we can tell is the
wiki with the widest set of features. This does mean that users have a
slightly more complex interface than systems such as JSPwiki but on the
plus side they get WYSIWYG editing out of the box.
I do know that some student unions are using Confluence to run their
websites so it is being used for content management. There is a company
providing this as a solution. I could dig their name out if this is of
interest.
I hope some of this is useful.
