Just a short note to remind everyone about the European Sociological 
Association's Annual Conference entitled: "Conflict, Citizenship and Civil 
Society". This will take place in Glasgow 3rd - 6th September, 2007.

Justin Waring and I are running a 'Sociology of Social Policy' paper 
stream at the conference and titles of paper sessions for this stream 
include:

"The Dynamics of Poverty/Inequality: implications for social policy"
"Social Capital, Well-being and Society"
"New Directions in Russian Social Policy
"Social Policy and the Individual/State Relationship: challenges and 
transformations"
"Citizenship and Social Policy"
"New Issues for Social Welfare"

The precise programme is yet to be finalised by the ESA, but our stream 
should take place over two days, 4th-5th September.

Registration for the conference is now open (see link above). The early 
bird booking deadline is the 31st May.

Finally - here comes the 'big please!': if anyone is planning to attend 
the conference and would be willing to chair a paper session we would be 
most grateful if you would let us know.
