i am new to my job, and new to supporting SPM, so forgive any stupid questions.
we are running SPM2 and SPM5 under solaris 9, although i don't think SPM5
has ever worked full here.
i recently tried to update our SPM5 to the latest version (748) and the
users have reported that they got the following error when trying to run it:
/ __)( _ \( \/ )
\__ \ )___/ ) ( Statistical Parametric Mapping
(___/(__) (_/\/\_) SPM5 - http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/

Error running job:
Invalid MEX-file '/export/apps/spm5.748/spm_slice_vol.mexsol': ld.so.1:

Done.
at first we were just getting the invalid MEX-file line, but now, we are
also getting the error about matlab and the missing libgcc_s.so.l file.
we can make this work under windows xp as well as macosx, it only seems to
be an issue under solaris.
has anyone seen this issue before?
there is indeed no libgcc_s.so.l file in the MATLAB directory, but MATLAB
runs just fine, so i wonder if that is indeed the issue.
should i just go ahead and re-compile SPM from scratch?
