Dear Laura,
I was just about to send a similar question to the list, since I got the same
error message using updates_748. Then I ran the same with updates_546 and
everything worked (stats estimation ran smoothly).
So without giving an explanation or even a solution I can at least confirm the
experience you made on an independent data set.
