Handling 4D data in SPM2 was a bit flakey, but it should work rather
better in SPM5. When the file selector asks for images, just change the
field in the selector (that normally says "1") to "1:1000" (for
example). By default, it is set up so that it doesn't have to read all
the image headers. If you need to select volumes from a 4D file, then
the filter has to be set to include the volumes you want to specify.
Best regards,

Subject: [SPM] Loading 4D data
Hi All,
I am new to SPM and I'm having trouble loading 4D data sets. I've tried
both SPM2 and SPM5 with no success.
In SPM2, we first go to Miscellaneous Defaults and select "Allow
multi-volume Analyze files". Then we try to load the 4D data but it
appears
to only load the first volume. The output of the smoothing or
normalization
is always a file that contains only one volume.
In SPM5, we create the 4D file in NIFTI format. But, when loading the
file,
you can click on the file but the "Done" button is grayed out. In other
words, it doesn't let you select.
So, are we doing something horribly wrong or can SPM not deal with 4D
data?
many thanks,
jack
