Why strategy matters and what to do about it!
Manchester Business School
Tuesday 17th July 2007
Research centres and institutes are responsible for their own survival and
development. What happens next year and the year after depends on many
things but not least your own analysis and planning. Strategy involves
taking a hard look at what you do, your environment, what you want to do
and how you might achieve it. This workshop explores the stages in
strategy development and provides useful tools for analysing and
evaluating options.
It is intended for those who are involved in running research centres:
directors and senior administrators plus experienced researchers who are
developing areas of expertise. It is also of interest to those involved in
running other types of centres which require funding from multiple
projects or multiple sources.
The workshop is highly concentrated and will draw on the experiences of
participants.
The workshop will be led by Richard Harding of Harrow Business School and
Malcolm Rigg, Director of the Policy Studies Institute supported by PSI
Administrator, Tim Edwards
