Dear Molecular Dynamics Community Member,
I am looking for information about retailers of several pieces of laboratory equipment.
1. Pulse delay generators. I have found two companies that make pulse delay generators with similar specs (i.e. 50ps jitter) to the industry standard Stanford Research Systems DG535, but effectively provide twice as many independently controlled transitions because they give you ~50ps control over the rise AND fall of four pulses. The companies(location)/models I have found are Signal Recovery (Wokingham, UK)/9650A and Highland Technology (San Francisco)/P400. My concern is that we do not know anyone with any experience with either of these companies. Is their equipment as robust as SRS's? Any feedback (good or bad) with either of these companies, and especially with their pulse generators would be greatly appreciated.
2. Pulsed valve manufactures. Do you know of any commercial manufacturer of Proch-Trickl (PZT actuated) pulsed valves? These valves are a bit slower than Gentry(RM Jordan) valves, but avoid heating the gas at the valve orifice. Previously, we have had these valves custom made in our machine shop, but we are looking for a cheaper, mass produced option. Again, any leads (good or bad experiences with companies) is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Alex Zolot
