It's worth noting that J C Burrow (the Cornish mining photographer) produced
a set of Slate mine pictures of Llechwedd in conjunction with the Government
report at the end of the 19th century. These give a unique record of the
conditions at the time and when combined with the physical evidence of the
remaining structures (if they are not destroyed that is) give the site a
remarkable heritage value.
I have a set of 24 magic lantern slides from the pictures Burrow took along
with details of several more by him and others of a similar date. It is J C
Burrow that I have been researching rather than the Slate industry and the
research is far from complete. I hope this knowledge is of assistance
