Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London,
Wednesday, 16 May 2007.
In conjunction with the 2007 AGM of the Chemical Information and
Computer Applications Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry
http://www.rsc.org/cicag
Philip Stewart of the University of Oxford will give a talk on "The
Chemical Galaxy". The most familiar method of arranging elements is the
Periodic Table, first published in 1869 by Mendeleyev, which arranges
them in rows and columns. Since then, chemists have proposed a number of
other ways to present the information. The latest of these is The
Chemical Galaxy which uses a starry pathway to link the elements and
express the astronomical reach of chemistry
