CILIP'S PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS RETAIN OPEN UNIVERSITY CREDIT RATING
ENSURING VALUABLE BENEFITS FOR MEMBERS
CILIP's Qualifications and Professional Development Department is
delighted to announce that the Open University Validation Service (OUVS)
has again confirmed the credit rating of both Chartered Membership
(MCLIP) and Fellowship (FCLIP) at Masters level. Holders of CILIP's
professional qualification are eligible to claim up to 30 Masters level
general credit points for MCLIP and 75 Masters level general credit
points for FCLIP.
OUVS credit rating can secure valuable exemptions for CILIP members
wishing to study additional academic qualifications to support and
enhance their career progression and development opportunities. Recently
one Chartered member was delighted to be able to gain the maximum 30
credit exemption from her Masters level course on the strength of her
Chartership. This means she can complete her Masters degree at a lower
cost and in a shorter time than fellow students without credit points.
Margaret Oldroyd, Chair of the Chartership Board, warmly welcomed this
announcement, stressing that "the credit rating of Chartership and
Fellowship is a vital and important part of providing the opportunity
for enhancing the job mobility of CILIP's Chartered members within and
beyond the UK".
Marion Huckle, Head of Qualifications and Professional Development
comments: "Few professional bodies have their qualifications externally
validated in this way and this outcome is a splendid endorsement of the
dedicated and professional work undertaken by members of the Chartership
Board. It also acknowledges the essential contribution of all those
involved in the qualifications process including CILIP's mentors, the
specialist member operated support networks and of course our Chartered
members themselves, who ensure that applications consistently achieve
the high standards set by the Open University."
CILIP is actively seeking to achieve appropriate credit rating for the
two newer awards of ACLIP and Revalidation so that all members can
benefit from independent endorsement of the level and standing of their
awards.

OUVS credit please us know at Mailto:[log in to unmask]
