This resource was recommended to our recent Women's Health Library Focus Group by the Lead Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, who described it as "invaluable". The particular consultant has just paid £590 out of charity funds for one user access, so we would be interested if HCLU could purchase.

Subject: Anantomy TV SHA-wide subscriptions
Dear all
Yet another offer - I know some of you were interested in Anatomy TV -
though again, I suspect this is more acute focused. A cut-down version was
available via NLH for a while.
Could you let me know what you think of the deal:
NW-wide access for 50 concurrent users
At £16,708 (plus VAT) pa.
Details at: http://www.anatomy.tv/default.aspx
Is it something you would want to share the costs of?
Is it "the" product you would like HCLU to purchase following our
discussions at the Lancaster meeting last week?
With best wishes
David

Dear David,
We no longer offer the cut down version that was available on the NELHI site
and would not be able to offer a 10 seat license for a SHA wide
subscription.
We do have set pricing for SHAs and this is set at a minimum of 50 seats.
A smaller number of seats would be constantly over the user limits from
experience with other SHAs plus as a company we would not want to conflict
our current direct sales to NHS staff and hospitals for a 10 user license.
The current pricing for this is an annual fee of £16,708 exc VAT. We could
offer some discounts if you were to commit for 2 years or more. We would
provide a training day for the staff, as well as regular statistics.
This would be for the Complete Human Anatomy and Interactive Functional
Anatomy 2/e package online.
We could as a trial pro rate this and offer you 3 months access at £4177 exc
VAT for 50 concurrent seats This will let us monitor exact user numbers.
Let me know your thoughts

SHA-wide subscriptionsCatriona
We have 64 Trusts in the NW. We estimate over 200,000 staff, but that
includes everyone such as domestics, admin staff etc. Total number of
doctros in training grades is around 7,000. On past experience I'd suggest
10-15 "seats" - and, should it be affordable - test that for a year and then
re-evaluate.

Dear David,
We can certainly discuss multi user discounts and trust wide licenses with
you and this would be based on the educational multi user pricing model.
In the first instance could you tell me how many trusts are involved and
approx how many staff would want to use the service. The pricing is based on
concurrent seats so could be Trust/region wide.
If you could give me some approx numbers I will work out some pricing for
you. Would the access be to all the titles we publish or a certain
selection?
All the best

Catriona,
I'm not sure which group we count as, but I susepct "educators" probably
means universities and all the other headings don't seem to match to us -
"clinician" was the nearest I could find.
I know that you were a provider to NHS staff via the National core Content
scheme managed for all English Strategic Health Authorities by the
National
Library for Health.
Some NHS library managers in north west England have expressed an interest
in subscribing to your product(s) - and have asked me to investigate
whether
there are regional discounts available - and what the costs might be for
subscriptions covering all NW england Trusts.
Many thanks for your help,
David Stewart
