Subject: Presentations from the NHS-HE Forum on 10th May/ Help with
Federated Access Management Projects
Dear All,
Thank you to those that made it to the NHS-HE Forum meeting last week and I
hope you found it useful. The presentations are now available at
http://www.nhs-he.org.uk/10-may-2007.html (Prof Dezateux's presentation will
be added once the report is released from the work she described, with a
link to the report).
Thank you as well to those that nearly made it but were thwarted at the last
minute eg through ill-health or train derailments! In particular the 4
presenters that this affected. Nevertheless they have sent in their intended
presentations which are available:
John Ainsworth - MRC e-Science Projects with specific example of PsyGRID at
http://www.nhs-he.org.uk/NHS-HE-Forum%20PSYGRID.pdf
Carol Leonard - Identity Management Project at
http://www.nhs-he.org.uk/FAM-NHS-HE%20Forum.pdf
(but mention too of the heroic efforts of John Paschoud who gave a
presentation on this at an hour's notice!)
Carol and colleagues at Cardiff/LSE are wanting organisations to fill in a
survey at http://www.identity-project.net/survey.doc which is aimed at HE &
FE institutions but has a specific section on the NHS as section 6. In
particular is question 6.1.5 "What Identity Management Issues" have been
caused by your links with the NHS". The deadline for the survey is tomorrow
so hopefully someone within each organisation is already working on this.
There are also other stages to the project so other opportunities to get
involved. Contact Carol at [log in to unmask] for more information.
Tony McDonald and Caroline Ingram - An extension to the IAMSECT "shibboleth"
project to investigate the NHS issues at
http://www.nhs-he.org.uk/JISC%20FAM%20NHS-HE%20forum%20Thu%20May%2010%20with
%20notes%202007.pdf
Various ways to help with this project (survey, focus groups, selective
interview) looking specifically at the NHS-HE boundary issues and there's
mention of winning an iPod nano! You can contact Tony (
[log in to unmask] ) or Caroline ([log in to unmask])
to get involved.
Many thanks,
Malcolm
