I've had a query from a tutor who wishes to download multiple copies of a paper for distribution during a course. Is this covered by the new CLA licence? The only reference I can find states:
Copying authorised by the licence
You can make and distribute as many copies as you require for each particular purpose subject to the following extent limit:
* two articles from a magazine, journal or other periodical
* any number of articles in a periodical dealing with a particular theme where a substantial part of the issue is dedicated to that theme
* one entire case from a published report of judicial proceedings
* one chapter from a book
or 5% of the publication, if greater than the above
(I've emboldened the phrase in question.) This could be taken to refer to multiple copies, or simply to making lots of single copies of different papers. Does anyone have the definitive answer to this?
