Andy,

Here at the JISC Regional Support Centre for Scotland North & East we'd be
keen to get involved in a discussion group/forum for Scotland. We can offer
a venue in Edinburgh and could also contribute to the organisation of any
agenda items etc. We are also able to offer support/lines of communication
from JISC.

Perhaps we could discuss this in more detail off-list if it is of interest
to you?

All the best,

Sara

Hi

I'd like to express my thanks to Nicole and all the folks from JISC,
UKERNA and the other contributors for a very useful meeting over the
previous two days in BHam.

During the course of the meeting a few of us from "up here" were
talking about the idea of getting together more locally on an adhoc
informal basis to talk about Shib/exhange ideas/ experiences/ things
that have worked (and things that haven't...), sort of a self help group
for FAMers.

I had to get up at 0545, drive for an hour and a half, queue at checkin
for 40 minutes and fly for an hour to get to BHX so the idea would be to
have something here in Scotland, venue TBD. So if you're in Scotland
or environs and would be interested in something like this could you
send me an email and I'll keep you posted and I can involve you in the
loop of when where and what. The idea we bounced around would be maybe
half a day with one or two short show and tell type presentations and
then plenty of time for discussions maybe every two or three months
depending on need. I'd be happy to host something here in Dundee but
there may be better locations - we can discuss it when we know where
people might be coming from. It would also be good to involve Scottish
sites who maybe haven't got involved in this yet - I've got contacts
pretty much most places so when/if we get something going I'll see who
else might be interested.

So let me know if you'd be interested.

Cheers
