Dear All,
I’m hoping to find somebody who can help us with a problem we are
experiencing with usb flash drives. Any advice from anybody who has
experienced the same problem and found a cure would be most welcomed.
We have a problem on our student pc's whereby usb flash drives don't
work. All our students have standard 'user' accounts. The trouble is,
the problem is a bit hit and miss, but essentially when a student
plugs a flash drive into a usb port, the device is detected but they
are then presented with a dialog box prompting for an administrator
to login because they don't have sufficient access rights to install
the device.
Windows updates seem to cure the problem temporarily but it always
returns. We've tried various registry entries, local user rights etc.
Everything we try seems to work but, again only temporarily.
Thanks for any help you’re able to provide,
Mike Barley
