EPSRC Summer School
Mathematical Modelling & Computational Methods in Solid Mechanics
26th August - 1st September 2007

Registration is now open for an EPSRC Summer School on Mathematical
Modelling & Computational Methods in Solid Mechanics. This week-long event
is to take place at Glasgow University between 26th August and 1st September
2007. The material covered will address both basic and advanced topics
within computational solid mechanics. Speakers include Professors Ray Ogden,
Nenad Bicanic, Harm Askes, Marc Geers and Gerhard Holzapfel.

The emphasis will be on introducing and understanding the underlying applied
mathematics appropiate to computational solid mechanics, but there will also
be sessions on the very latest developments in the field. Each day will
involve lectures and tutorials. There will also be less formal evening
sessions in the bar and a formal Dinner.

The school will be appropriate to PhD students, post-docs, academics and
practicing engineers.

The school is supported by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research
Council (EPSRC). The fee structure is given below. These amounts cover
accommodation, food, social events and all lecture material. Participants
need only find funds to travel to Glasgow.

UK-based PhD students: £100
Non UK-based PhD students:	£250
UK-based researchers: £250
Others: £600

It will be an intensive week where we hope that you will learn a great deal
as well as make new research friendships and challenge yourself in this
exciting area of engineering research. Places are limited, so please
register early.

You will find further details and forms for registration on our web pages. I
very much look forward to seeing you in Glasgow.
